This puzzle contains eight pictures of historical events with short descriptions of the events. Each description has a single incorrect words and a single incorrect digit. It is relatively easy to find the correct words and digits.

To find the answer, it is simply necessary to index into each corrected word using the corrected digit. For example, for the first image, the corrected digit is a 3, and the third letter of the corrected word, Declaration, is a C. Continuing this method for all eight images, the answer is revealed to be CAPTIONS. Certainly the captions played an integral role in this puzzle.
