Puzzle Hunts

There is by now a long tradition of puzzle hunts, and the form is becoming more popular. For the uninitiated, puzzle hunt puzzles are traditionally presented without instructions, with the discovery of the method being part of the puzzle. Each puzzle also in general has a word or phrase that can be extracted from the puzzle as a final answer. These answers, besides being a good way to track a solver’s progress, also come together with other answers to form a meta-puzzle.

Puzzles of the Week are designed in this form, but are made to be accessible to people with little to no experience with puzzle hunting. In addition, the subject matter is selected to be appropriate for and relevant to children and teens. Each puzzle’s answer may be entered into the answer checker form on the puzzle’s post, and every two months, a meta-puzzle will be released instead of a regular puzzle.

For the most part, these puzzles are intended to be solvable without using any sort of outside resource. However, feel free to look up any answers if you are unsure of them. There is no shame in learning something new!
