This puzzle consists of a piece of music with notes ranging from C3 to C#5, a range containing twenty-five semitones. (Twenty-six notes, counting both ends.) It makes sense to match these pitches to the letters of the alphabet to create a cipher.
Using this cipher, with the bar lines signifying the spaces between words, the notes in the puzzle spell out WELL DONE! THE ANSWER IS MOZART SYMPHONY -KEVIN. The answer is MOZART SYMPHONY.
Astute solvers will notice that in the second and fourth measures, it would be proper to include natural signs on the second E or F of the measures. These were left out to try to avoid confusing the less musically-inclined solvers, but I hope this decision didn’t negatively affect anybody’s solving experience.
